Emerging Therapy Solutions Appoints Luke Prettol to Board of Directors

Luke Prettol

BLOOMINGTON, Minn., August 31, 2026 — Emerging Therapy Solutions® (ETS), a leader in the management of cell and gene therapies, transplants and other high-cost complex care, today announced the appointment of Luke Prettol, CEBS, to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. Prettol will serve on the ETS Board in his individual capacity and not as a representative of his employer or any other organization with which he is affiliated.

Prettol joins the ETS Board as the company continues to expand its work with self-funded employers and other health care payers navigating the growing clinical and financial impact of cell and gene therapies and other high-cost complex care. His appointment brings an important purchaser perspective to ETS as the company advances more proactive, integrated approaches to identifying risk earlier, improving patient access and managing care and financial exposure across the treatment journey.

A highly regarded thought leader in employer-sponsored health care, Prettol brings extensive experience developing benefits strategies for large, self-insured populations. His understanding of how employers evaluate clinical outcomes, affordability, patient access and financial risk will provide valuable insight as ETS expands its work with self-funded employers, health plans, secondary payers and the advisors who serve them.

“Luke is an exceptional addition to the ETS Board,” said Ashley Hume, CEO of Emerging Therapy Solutions. “He understands the opportunities and pressures facing self-insured employers at a level few people do, and he brings a perspective that is incredibly important as we continue to grow. Just as importantly, he shares our conviction that managing complex, high-cost care requires more than a financing mechanism; it requires earlier insight, thoughtful patient support, access to the right care and a relentless focus on outcomes and value. Luke has spent his career challenging conventional thinking about how employers can improve health care, and his experience, curiosity and purchaser perspective will be invaluable as we continue to evolve ETS.”

In his professional role, Prettol leads benefits strategy for one of the country’s largest self-insured employers, AT&T. His experience includes designing patient-centered health programs, addressing access to cell and gene therapies and other high-cost treatments, and using advanced analytics to identify opportunities to improve health care value and reduce disparities. Prettol serves on the Governance Board of the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review and has been recognized for his expertise in employer-sponsored health care innovation and the purchaser side of the health care system. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resource Management from Baylor University and is a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist®.

“Employers are juggling a variety of demands that become critically important for cell and gene therapies including patient access, affordability and health outcomes,” Prettol said. “ETS understands that managing cell and gene therapies and transplants means getting the entire journey right, from identifying risk and supporting patients to connecting them with high-quality care and achieving sustainable value. I am honored to join the ETS board and contribute my perspective as ETS continues to develop solutions for employers and other health care payers navigating this rapidly evolving area.”
